When Phasmophobia launches on consoles it will be updated regularly alongside the PC version with content and bug fixes, and this is because it will be using crossplay support across all platforms, so the versions must be the same.
When is Phasmophobia releasing on PS5 and Xbox?
Phasmophobia has been available in early access on Steam since September 2020, making the wait for the console ports fairly long. While Kinetic Games has yet to announce a specific release date, it has confirmed that they will be released sometime in late August.
"We're pushing our biggest update ever back 2 weeks to mid-August for some final polish. As of now, the console release in late August is still on track." said Kinetic Game in an update on Twitter. The Progression 2.0 update will launch on Thursday, 17th August.

With its early access launch in September 2020, Phasmophobia reached an all-time high of 112,717 active players. It not only initiated the ghost-hunting genre but also significantly influenced other games in the industry, with a few enjoying their own measures of success.
The addition of console ports will undoubtedly increase the workload for the small development team. It will be intriguing to see if they can maintain a consistent pace of updates while managing additional platforms, particularly with the demands of crossplay support. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will launch on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, so this will at least help.
