Tobspr Games has sent over word that it's working on a sequel to Shapez, its top-down factory-building automation game, which will build upon the previous game by introducing all-new 3D visuals, allowing players to build their factories in multiple layers.
Shapez 2 is currently under development for PC and is slated for release on Steam. As of now, no specific release date has been announced other than it will release in 2024. There was no mention of console versions.

In Shapez 2, players are tasked with extracting and transforming geometric shapes into more complex configurations. Each shape serves as a puzzle, composed of various building blocks that factories can disassemble, reassemble, color, and manipulate in numerous ways.
By crafting unique shapes and overcoming the production challenges inherent to each level, players will unlock new technologies. These advancements, in turn, empower factories to generate increasingly intricate shapes, setting the stage for subsequent targets and reaching higher levels.
Tobspr Games says that it has secured partial funding from the German government, enabling the team to grow and collaborate with freelancers in creating a "promising sequel with more content than ever before."
The success of the original Shapez, evidenced by over 500,000 units sold on Steam, coupled with 150,000 wishlists for the sequel, suggests that the player base is eagerly looking forward to the next installment.
